![]() ![]() So no camera on the Pi, get a standalone IP camera. Its biggest problem is supposedly CPU usage with wireless data transfer while printing. So nothing wrong with the Zero W, as long as you use it within its parameters. Installing is way slower than my old Linux do-it-all box in the corner, but needed to move the printer. Installed Octopi, and it is just running. OctoPrint is free and Open Source Software released under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL).Just bought a Pi Zero W, as it is dirt cheap. A Raspberry Pi Zero W can be added to their 3D printers and they provide a customized image of OctoPi for their printers. Prusa Research by Josef Prusa actively supports OctoPrint. We downloaded and installed etcher etcher.io to burn the OctoPi image to the SD card. We purchased a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B (33,99 EURO) with a Power Supply (8.99 EURO), a SanDisk Extreme 32GB Micro-SDHC card (22.99 EURO), and a Logitech C920 HD Webcam (39,00 EURO) with a Cullmann Alpha 15 Mini Tripod with Ball Head (6,99 EURO) for a total of 112 EURO from Amazon and it took us under 30 minutes to set it up. We downloaded OctoPi, a Raspbian based SD card image for the Raspberry Pi that already includes OctoPrint and everything required to run it, which is maintained by Guy Sheffer. ![]() Gina Häußge created and maintains OctoPrint, a snappy web interface for 3D printers. Make sure to select 1080p HD as your video resolution in your YouTube window – Settings – Quality.
